BIOMASS: Growth
A downloadable game for Windows
BIOMASS is growing.
This is still in development, but it's coming along and shaping up nicely. BIOMASS: Growth is a complete overhaul of the original with all-new graphics, sound, music, more fleshed out gameplay and a much bigger doomed space lab to explore.
Oh! The demo is here! I've been spending too much time developing interesting-looking stuff without actually posting it beyond screenshots and videos.
The original's concept was fantastic, unique enough to stand on its own, but the scope was too narrow to fully explore it. This time, you'll be in for a much more expansive adventure, diving deep into the game's mechanics and intricacies.
Many of the things holding the original back from greatness have been smoothed out, streamlined and mutated into newer, better, nastier things.
Playing the original version is not necessary to enjoy this one fully.
However, if you'd still like to, here's the link.
If you haven't played the original at all, here's the pitch for this one, starting from the top:
You wake up in a deserted lab with no idea who, what, where or why you are. You have only your senses and the logbooks of deceased crew members to guide you.
You're weak, fleshy, vulnerable, but around the station you'll find powered armor suits that increase your mobility, defense and firepower. Keep your suits charged up, or you'll be searching for a replacement battery - with no suit to protect you.
Each time you die, a fresh clone is printed out and everything on the station remains persistent. Boss's health, machinery operated, and the location of your suit. You'll be fighting your way back to your suit - and only once you've got it back will you be strong enough to avenge your fallen clone.
As you search for ways to expand your arsenal and access to the station, the titular BIOMASS will spread throughout, growing stronger, more aggressive, in a desperate arms race against you. There is no killing it. A single splatter on the walls could later reform into something worse.
Find out who, what, where and why you are, and uncover the fate of the crew in this doomed lab. Find a way to destroy the BIOMASS and save humanity from certain death.

Hello BRAINOS, Im part of a team called PortMaster. Is is a non-commercial project with aim of porting games to multiple handheld linux devices running custom versions of Linux. BIOMASS: Growth is a very cool game and feels quite right to play on a retro handheld. I would like to ask if you would allow us to distribute the game files. Otherwise gamers would have to download the game on itch.io and add the file manually. I look forward to hearing back from you, if you are interested in PortMaster, here is a link: https://portmaster.games/
Cheers!
This rules!! Feel free to distribute, go crazy
Thank you a lot :)
been waiting for this game to release, happy to try
very good game,thanks
Is it just me, or there are multiple playmodes?
There are two doors that do not function for me and i am worried that i cant finish it without them, the level 2 door and a door next to a sign for the reactor. is this everyone or just me?
Speaking of the Reactor, the 'Minigame' there is A HEADACHE!!! any tips!?
be quick, be nimble, and jump whenever you can. conserve ammo for when the cylinders fire, and try not to panic.
Okay, but the fact that the 'Heat Required' barriers move so slowly is excruciating. I want intense combat, not intense patience!
It's long and panicky to me, and when you perma-die, you have to do it again, but at least once you finish it, it's done. (Also, it's coolant. The reactor is charging, but being cooled at the same time. You are draining coolant so it doesn't freeze before it activates.)
But the fact that it is coolant does not make sense. The Reactor explodes!
Cant wait for the full release.
Incredible and interesting gameplay.
This looks amazing! Looking forward to it!
Game is looking really cool
Reminds me of A Robot Named Fight. Looking good!
thanks! there's definitely a lot of meat-meets-metal games goin' around, so sticking to a couple really unique mechanics oughta distinguish mine from the rest 😅
it's good seein' you around! definitely been a while!
Always room for more raw meat and metal in games.
I kinda quit dev stuff or a while, but now I'm back with my biggest project ever.
At last: The sequel to Clone girl's horrible, very bad, no good day in space we've all been waiting for.
Clone girl's horrible, very bad, no good day in space should've been the title
